Which West Ham game were you proud to have attended?
With the end of days and nights at the Boleyn in sight I was talking with a Hammers mate tonight about the games we have been to over the years and which ones we are pleased we had attended or lucky to have been there.

Never being a season ticket holder and only managing a few visits a season I was surprised at how many damn good days I had managed to see first hand from the 4-0 away win at Chelsea in 85/86, the 2-1 win v Man United that same season through to the FA Cup Final in 2006.

However I found that the one game that I was actually proud to have attended was funnily enough a 1-0 defeat against Everton (I think) that was Sir Trevor Brookings last ever game for the Hammers. Not the result we wanted but chuffed to have been at the great mans last game.

Results aside, which game were you pleased not to have missed?

Liverpool League cup slaughter. Got kicked out by plod early on , had no money to get back in but a tout I knew, gave me a west side upper seat. Thanks to zow I got to see a great night under the lights. I'd say I'm always proud walking in the games, gonna miss Upton Park.

How times have changed looking at the post match interviews. Dev and Frank Lampard clearly just throwing something comfortable on rather than all this designer stuff these days, Dev obviously not earning quite enough to get his teeth fixed yet both absolutely proud and delighted to be at Wembley.

Lovely to see an old interview with John Lyall. Really just comes across and a nice guy. Those were the days.

Bond Scheme pitch protest v Everton. A glorious day back when West Ham fans weren't apathetic cardboard-cut-out happy-clappers.

SIT DOWN WEST HAM, SIT DOWN!

Most of them but I guess the most memorable would have to be the first time I took my son, sadly I don't remember the match/date since c30 years ago but I seem to remember Stuart Slater scoring a few goals!

All of them, win lose or draw.

Standout will always be that Bradford game though, 5-4, was buzzing for days after that one, remember it was the only game i could get to on a trip back home and cursing my luck it was fucking Bradford..................

Re: Which West Ham game were you proud to have attended?
In actual fact for me, based on the atmosphere and the whole run in and the replay and the fact that I went every week home and away at the time. It was a battling performance, Brooking, Devonshire, Parkes at his best. I would pay all the money I have to go back and relive it. You can keep the recent years (this year being the exception). The West Ham Way, beautiful football and a battling performance from all, from a time when we thought we could beat anyone. Hopefully Bilic is restoring those values.

Last games stand out for me among the many great ones already said that I would fully agree with.

Di Canio v Chelsea
Brady v Wolves
Repka v Fulham

Collison playing after personal tragedy too.

When McAvennie came back.

Too many to mention.

Probably all of them including a few infamous defeats, in particular the Tbilisi football lesson as those of us of a certain age with a different perspective on what football was and means have always said on here.

Games that stand out -1976 ECWC semi, Boxing Day games against Spurs, David Cross against Spurs 1981, Alvin Martin against Newcastle, games whenever Brooking, Lampard and Bonds performed the Coventry free kick of which there were several and they swapped it around and always scored, 1980 cup final, 1981 League Cup Final, any of the early games with Johnny Byrne (the first Payet). So many ...

The last game on the North Bank v Southampton
United Away in the Fa CUP PDC vs Bartez
Forest Semi Final
Boro Semi Final
FA Cup Final 06
Wolves at home when Bobby Moore died

However the one that was will live with me is wolves at home when we went back up under Sam, it was the last time I would goto Upton Park & it was wierd walking out of there for the last time having walked in at the start of the 80/81 season.

Re: Which West Ham game were you proud to have attended?
The match for me would be the legendary '64 FA cup semi at Hillsborough v Man U. I was only 10, but I still have vivid memories of it.
The weather was horrendous throughout the day and the pitch was a quagmire, but most of our players made light of it, particularly Bobby and Geoff.
We were given no chance to get any kind of result, but we stuffed 'em 3-1, and the only reason they scored was because Law clobbered Jim Standen who was struggling for the rest of the game.
This might sound a bit glib, but the final was almost a bit of an anti-climax.

I forgot to mention Cremonese, despite the result. Being just one of a thousand Hammers and being on the tortuous 48 hour official club coach trip made it a 'badge of honour' in only the way we know how.

Re: Which West Ham game were you proud to have attended?
Mine is always Eintracht, the place was heaving despite the downpour and those of us on the South Bank being totally drenched.

That said, there are many, many others which have already been mentioned which I am also proud to have attended.
